This is possibly the most notorious album launch that EMI Australia has ever staged.

I was listening to an interview with Gore Vidal the other day and he made the comment that what we think is our memory is just us recalling the last time we remembered. This is certainly the case here. Maybe I was distracted at the time because it was only afterwards when heads were rolling at EMI and the the wonderful Ribald front page story came out that I became aware that something "shocking" had happened.

It was certainly a bizarre evening, but hell, I came from Kansas and Albany, I probably just assumed this was how big time show business operated.

I do know that EMI was slugged with a huge bill for the damage and were banned - maybe to this day - from the Rothman's Theatrette.

As for me, the last time I remembered, I recall having had a great night.
